STUFFING
Baked Bread Dressing
with Jimmy Dean Sausage

2 -10 oz. Boxes Seasoned
Stuffing Dressing  (20 oz. will equal 16 cups).
1 lb. Jimmy Dean sage
sausage.
1 and 1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
2 cups chicken broth
1 and 1/2 cup celery, chopped
1 cup onion, minced
1 red bell pepper, chopped
1 cup plain apple sauce (this will add flavor and keep dressing from drying out)
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 cup golden yellow raisins (optional)

Fry sausage with 1 cup water until no longer pink. Use a potato masher to break it up into small pieces.
Now mix everything together, add small amounts of water if needed to make the stuffing a little pasty.
Bake in a greased baking dish or baking pan at 350-F for 30-40 minutes or until piping hot.
Serve as a side dish with poultry and pork.

Makes 12-14 servings
