GINGER-ALE RASPBERRY SHRUB
Fresh Fruit Juice Drink
Ingredients
1 pint raspberries
Sugar syrup to taste
1 cup water
1 quart Ginger Ale
Juice of three lemons
Sprigs of mint or orange slice
Method
Wash raspberries; add water
and heat to a boiling point. Boil for
about 5 or 6 minutes. Force through sieve.
Add lemon juice and sweeten to taste with sugar syrup. Place in refrigerator for at least one hour to cool and ripen. When ready to serve add ginger ale and pour over ice cubes. Garnish with mint or orange slice.
Serves four
SUGAR SYRUP RECIPE
Use in any drink with no gritty sugar settling on bottom. Stores for a long time in a tight lid jar at room temperature. Use in cold drinks and hot beverages, in baking, cooking and salad dressing recipes.
Ingredients
1 cup sugar or 1-1/4 cup Splenda (sugar substitute)
1 cup water

Method
Combine sugar and water, bring to a boil and stir for several minutes until dissolved, cool.
Makes 1 cup of syrup equivalent to 1 cup of sugar.
