BROILED EGG RECIPE
Eggs Clementine -
Oven broil egg over fried bread
with melted cheese
Ingredients
4 eggs
4 slices bread, butter one side and fry
like you were making a toasted cheese
sandwich.
1/2 cup shredded Gruyere cheese
1/4 cup dry white wine
salt to taste
Pinch of cayenne pepper
4 tablespoon butter
Method
Arrange the fried bread in an ovenproof serving dish. Melt the cheese in a saucepan with the wine; season it with salt and cayenne pepper. Pour this mixture onto the fried bread. Lightly fry the eggs in hot butter without flipping them, and place each egg on a slice of the fried bread. Put the dish into a preheated 400° F. [200° C.] oven, or under a broiler, for just two minutes to glaze the tops of the eggs.
