TACKY SWEET CANDIED APPLE RECIPE
Candy Fried Apples in a thick sticky liquid.
If you like Cracker Barrel fried apples,
try this recipe.

Ingredients
7 apples, rinse washed, remove core, slice
with skins on or if preferred; peel apples
3 tablespoon butter
Pinch of salt
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup of the small cinnamon candies
sometimes called "Red Hots" or use
a substitute brand.

Method
Melt butter in large frying pan. Add apple slices and top with
sugar, salt and cinnamon candies.
Cover and let cook over medium heat stirring occasionally.
Remove lid halfway through cooking and continue frying until apples are soft, but not mush, and liquid has cooked down to a thick pink syrup.
Remove apples and syrup from pan and put into a bowl, let cool down before serving. Goes very well with pork chops, ribs, ham, pork roast, chicken, turkey, brats, Polish and German sausages.

Note: Golden Delicious, Granny Smith, Fuji, Jonagold, Pink Lady apples work well with the exception of Red Delicious. Wash apples, leave peel on or off, remove core and slice into wedges. Approximately 10-12 slices per apple. Extra cut apple slices can be frozen.
