Monte Cristo Sandwich
Grilled Ham, Chicken or Turkey Breast, Swiss Cheese.  
FrenchToasted Bread

4 medium eggs
1/4 cup whole milk
1 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 teaspoons sugar
8 slices sourdough or Texas toast bread
8 ounces sliced cooked chicken or turkey breast
8 ounces sliced cooked ham
1/4 pound baby Swiss cheese
Some melted butter mixed half and half with cooking oil for frying
1/4 cup shifted powdered sugar

Beat eggs with milk in a shallow bowl then stir in vanilla and sugar. Melt some butter in a heavy skillet over a medium heat.Top off four slices of bread with equal amounts of turkey or chicken, ham and cheese. Top each with the other bread slices. Dip both sides of each sandwich in the mixture a few seconds. Fry sandwiches several minutes per side, until cheese melts and bread is light golden brown on both sides. Remove from pan and sprinkle lightly with powdered sugar. Serve with jelly.
