NUT AND POPPY SEED ROLL
Nut Rolls and Poppy Seed Rolls Recipe,
Hungarian Sweets.

Dough Ingredients for Six Rolls
6 cups flour, 
1/2 pint sweet cream,
1 pound butter,
1 package dry yeast,
1 pint sour cream,
2 tablespoons sugar,
1/2 teaspoon salt,
6 eggs beaten,
1/2 cup warm milk.

Nut and Poppy Seed Roll Method
Sift flour into a large bowl and cut in 1 pound soften butter. In another bowl, stir in the sugar, sweet cream and sour cream to beaten eggs. In a cup dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm milk, add the salt and let set a few minutes. Add the beaten egg mixture to the flour bowl then add the yeast mixture. Kneed dough into a ball, cover the bowl and place it into a refrigerator overnight. Next day, divide the dough into six parts. For each roll; sprinkle some flour on a plastic tablecloth and on each roll before rolling them out to about 3/16" thick. Melt 1 tablespoon butter and brush it all over the top of rolled out dough; Sprinkle all over, 1 cup sugar, 5 cups ground walnuts and 1-2 cup of golden light or dark raisins. 
Fold both sides of dough over a little to keep filling from falling out the sides then start at one end of dough closes to you and roll into a loaf like a jelly roll. Place rolled loaf on a cookie sheet, lightly brush top of each roll with milk and bake for 45 minutes to1 hour or until nicely light brown at 350-F. Bake only 2-3 rolls at a time unless you have a commercial oven. Slice and serve after cooled.  Baked rolls will also keep fresh and delicious when wrapped and frozen. Just thaw out at room temperature. (To make six poppy seed rolls, see below.)

POPPY SEED FILLING FOR MAKING SIX ROLLS.
2 lb. ground poppy seed,
4 cup sugar,
2 cup seedless golden raisins,
2 teaspoon vanilla,
Milk, to thin into a paste.

Combine ingredients, add enough milk to make a filling of a thin consistency that will spread all over the rolled out dough using a butter brush. Next; start at one end of the dough and roll into a loaf like a jelly roll. Place on cookie sheet, lightly brush top of each roll with milk and bake for 45 minutes to1 hour or until nicely light brown at 350-F. Bake only 2-3 rolls at a time.
