How to Prepare a Giant Family Omelet
Giant French Omelet and more Types of Omelets
The method to the best omelette is to remove the eggs from the refrigerator 30 minutes before preparing them.
Fry egg omelette in a heated skillet using a medium low heat.
Fry using extra virgin olive oil.
For variety, try all these egg omelette recipes.
FRENCH GIANT OMELET
8 eggs, lightly beaten
2 oz mushrooms, diced
1 tablespoon olive oil and then 2 tablespoon olive oil
1 shallot, chopped (small onion bulb) 1 garlic clove, chopped ½ cup diced cooked ham
Salt and pepper
Butter for brushing finished omelette
Heat one tablespoon olive oil in a small fry pan and cook the chopped shallot, mushrooms and garlic on medium low heat (stirring occasionally) until softened (about 10 minutes, or until the mushrooms are soft.) Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly. Meanwhile; in a bowl, beat the eggs with a fork or wire whisk, add the fried mixture in the same bowl with the eggs. Season with some salt and pepper and let stand for 15 minutes.
In a large skillet, add 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil and let the oil heat using a just-below-medium-heat. When oil is hot, pour in the egg mixture, sprinkle with ham and cook until the omelet is almost set but still creamy in the center. Fold the omelet as you slide it onto a warmed serving dish (the inside will still continue to cook after folded.) Melt a little butter and brush omelette.
Cut into 3 servings, garnish if desired.

Instead of Mushrooms use chopped Green or Red Bell Pepper that have been fried. In place of diced Ham, sprinkle with some fried Ground Sausage and with shredded mild Cheddar Cheese. Top off finished Omelet with some warmed Salsa Sauce and a tablespoon sour cream.
