PIE CRUST
Recipe for Top and Bottom Pie Crust

Ingredients
1/3 cup vegetable shortening (like Crisco)
1/3 cup butter
2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 1/3  tablespoon boiling water

Method
Cut or rub shortening and butter into flour, add salt, baking powder, then boiling water, mix to form dough. Divide in half. Roll out to size on a flour dusted surface. Makes a 9" top and bottom crust. Can be refrigerated or used right away.

A QUICK PIE CRUST RECIPE
Ingredients
1 and 1/2 cups plain flour
2 and 1/2  tablespoon firm butter
1 egg yolk
1 tablespoon water or, if needed, 2 tablespoons water

Method
Place flour (do not sift) and butter in food processor and process until like breadcrumbs. With food processor running, add egg yolk and a little water only until pastry balls of its own accord and sits above the blades of the machine. Pack and roll out dough.
