Ham Raisin Sauce
Special sauce for any Holiday ham
Serve raisin sauce over ham, pork, bread pudding, ginger bread, poultry, pumpkin pie.
1 cup raisins
1 cup water
2/3 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon cornstarch
½ teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
Dash of pepper
1 tablespoon vinegar
½ teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
1 tablespoon butter
Rinse wash raisins. In a cooking pan, using medium heat, cook the raisins with cloves and water 10 minutes or until puffy, add more water, in small amounts, if needed to keep up the liquid level. Add sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, salt and pepper and cook stirring constantly until slightly thickened. Add vinegar, Worcestershire and butter stirring constantly until blended. Remove cloves and serve hot. Spoon over baked ham slices.
Very good accompanied with mashed potatoes and all side dishes.
