Moist and Tender Every Time

How to thaw a frozen Turkey
Be Safe - Always thaw a frozen in your Refrigerator.
Defrost the turkey in its original wrapper on a tray
in the refrigerator 24 hours for every 5 lbs.
A 20 lb frozen turkey will take 4-5 days so plan
ahead. Never thaw a turkey on a counter top.

You will need 1 Turkey Size Reynolds Oven Bag
(or a good quality bag.)
1 tablespoon flour
1 medium onion, sliced
12-24 lb turkey, thawed
Vegetable oil

Very Easy Method
Preheat oven to 350-F. (175 C)
Remove neck and giblets from turkey cavities. Wash Rinse turkey well including cavities, pat dry. Brush turkey with oil, shake on plenty of salt and black pepper. Shake the flour in Oven Bag and Place turkey in roasting bag on top of sliced onions, place it on a roasting pan that is at least 2 inches deep.

Close oven bag with a nylon tie: To keep bag from exploding, cut six 1/2–inch slits in top of bag. Insert a meat thermometer through bag into thickest part of an inner thigh, not touching bone. Tuck ends of bag in pan.

Roast (bake) the turkey until the thermometer reads
180-F, cook 2 to 2-1/2 hours for a 12-16 lb turkey, 2-1/2 to 3 hours for a 16-20 lb turkey, and 3 to 3-1/2 hours for a 20-24 lb turkey. For easy slicing, let stand in oven bag 15 minutes. If turkey sticks to bag, gently loosen bag from turkey before opening oven bag.

Estimate 1 pound per person for generous servings with leftovers.

For safety: Cook stuffing separate in an oven baking dish.
