Fine homemade English Style fudge in Minutes
Microwave Oven, Power Level:
Cook on HIGH for 6 minutes then change to
Microwave Power Level: 70% and cook for an additional 2 minutes and 20 seconds.
Ingredients will yield about 2-3 pounds of fudge candy
2 box's (16 oz. each) or 1 ( 32 oz) bag of confectioners sugar
1/2 cup evaporated milk
1/2 cup Hershey Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
2 sticks BUTTER (1/2 lb)
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
*Optional: 1/3 cup raisins
Fudge Candy heating Instructions:
Using a microwave large bowl, add sugar, chocolate, milk and butter, do not stir.
In a Microwave oven, heat 6 minutes on HIGH: remove bowl using potholders, stir, return to microwave again and heat for another 2 minutes and 20 seconds at 70% power.
Fudge Candy mixing Instructions:
Remove bowl. (Bowl and mixture will be HOT,
use thick potholders.) Working quickly, add the vanilla and nuts, add optional raisins, use a wood spoon to
stir well until smooth, (mixture will start to harden quickly so work fast while being careful) Pour mixture into a 5-1/4" x 9" well greased glass baking dish: chill until very firm. Cut Fudge Candy into squares to serve.
You can make variations to this chocolate fudge after microwave heating. Examples: When you added the vanilla you could also have added 3/4 cup of any chopped peanuts, almonds, pecans or angel hair coconut, raisins or any dried chopped fruits and if you want to make almond fudge then leave out the Hershey Cocoa altogether and use almond extract in place of the vanilla extract.
* Time is based on a 1,000 watt microwave oven.
