HONEY BUTTER
Delicious Real Honey Butter Recipe
2 sticks of butter (½ lb)
4 tablespoon Honey
Optional *1/8 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
Clarified Honey Butter - First; clarify the butter.
Melt the butter under low heat then let it sit
for a couple of minutes, then pour the clear
butter (it will come out first from the frying pan) into
a cup or small bowl and STOP pouring
when you see the leftover white milky fat at the
bottom of the pan (discard this part.)
Again, using a medium-high heat, re-heat the clarified butter, stir in the honey and pumpkin pie spice. Stir rapidly until you see a few boiling bubbles then remove from heat and let set 10 minutes. Skim off any white fat that rises to the top. Pour in a container with a cover and place in refrigerator about 90 minutes or until set.
Remove from refrigerator and let set out about 20 minutes. The honey and favoring will be settled on the bottom so mix everything well into a thick, gooey paste. Refrigerate until ready to use. With each use, set out about 1/2 hour for it to soften before serving.
Spread honey butter on breads, rolls and warm toast, biscuits, on top of bakery, french toast, waffles, pancakes, cornbread, bagels, cream of wheat, oatmeal, fried mush, baked squash, sweet potatoes, pork. Mix in with cooked carrots and/or cooked green vegetables, etc.
Note: Better Restaurants serve Clarified Butter as a dipping for Seafood's such as Lobster, Crab Meat, etc.
