Types and Use of Vinegar
Balsamic Vinegar Use as a salad dressing, over vegetables and in fruit.
Apple Cider Vinegar Use as a condiment, preserving and pickling fruit, in salad dressing. Can be used as a substitute for rice vinegar.
Malt Vinegar Use for fish and french fries and pickling. It is used in Worcestershire sauce.
Rice Vinegar Use in sweet and sour recipes, in soups, sushi, dressings, in Chinese and Japanese dishes. Use replacement for white wine vinegar
White Wine Vinegar Use in salad dressing, in mayonnaise, in hollandaise sauces and flavored vinegars.
Red Wine Vinegar Use in cooking beef, lamb or game by adding it to the pan juices.
Raspberry and Fruit Vinegars Use in a fruit salad or as an ingredient in salad dressing.
Vinaigrette A mixture of vinegar and oil, usually olive oil. Add it to mustard, chives, onions and garlic. Use as a salad dressing or serve it with steamed fish or hot vegetables.
Red Rice Vinegar Use for a dipping sauce, in noodles, soup and seafood dishes, hot and sour soup. Red rice vinegar can be used as a substitute for black vinegar by adding a small amount of sugar.
Distilled Vinegar Use for pickling, cleaning glass and as a detergent and disinfectant.
